The 2025/26 Ghana Premier league leaders Medeama SC will take on Berekum Chelsea FC in a mid-week fixture as the league intensifies and approaches its decisive final stretch.
With the big clash scheduled for Wednesday, Ibrahim Tanko has admitted severe pressure on the team as well as the remaining fixture to deliver for the league title. It’s become clear, the Mauves and Yellow outfit stands favourite to clinch the league title after humbling closest contender Bibiani GoldStars SC 2-0 last Sunday at the TnA stadium.
The victory ensured Medeama SC stretched their title charge to a five-point lead at the top of the standings, having 56 points and leaving GoldStars SC to a 51 point ahead of match day 30 fixtures.
With four matches remaining and Medeama SC travelling to Berekum to play Berekum Chelsea FC, head coach Ibrahim Tanko acknowledge the toughness the journey to winning the title has become but insists all games deserve mental fortitude as teams battling relegation even makes things more difficult.
“The four remaining matches won’t be easy. We are going to prepare very well. We want to win the league, and so definitely we need to keep fighting,” Tanko said.
“The pressure is always there, not only to win it, but also to those who are going to relegation have pressure. So, we all have to deal with pressure. I think the last four games are going to be a mind game”
Tanko added; “We have to be strong, and I think this is what we are going to do”
Kick-off for Wednesday’s encounter is set for 15:00 GMT.
