Brazilian topflight club Grêmio have denied their forward Francis Amuzu from joining the national team for the upcoming international break.
The club have blocked the player from joining the Black Stars for their friendly against Mexico. Amuzu earned his first-ever call up to the national team, securing a place in Coach Carlos Queiroz maiden invite, after his appointment.
Grêmio received notice that the player was required to join the national team camp on Thursday, May 14th.
The Brazilian club cited a late call-up notice and insisted Amuzu is “too important” to lose during their crucial run against Confiança, Bahia, Palestino, and Santos.
Ghana faces Mexico in May 22, 2026 as part of their preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
