Black Star forward Brandon Thomas-Asante believes Ghana currently has in abundance quality and talent to face any opponent in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, boot for boot. Ghana in their last group game, lost 2-1 to Croatia to finish 3rd of the group.

Nonetheless, the Coventry City FC attacker says, Ghana has the talent to impose itself on any opponent at the Mundial with their eyes set on securing round of 16 ticket this weekend.

Ghana is preparing for their knockout stage clash against Colombia with sticks very high, for the West African country.

In an interview with Ghana FA Media the energetic speedster highlighted that there is quality of depth within the Black Stars setup and they are full of confidence to face any opponent at the tournament.

Brandon stressed that the team remains a dangerous attacking force, particularly on the counterattack which has Antoine Semenyo, Fatawu Issahaku, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Ernest Nuamah and Inaki Williams.

“We know that there’s so much talent in the squad and we want to be able to impose that on our opposition,” the Coventry City forward said.

“But saying that, even in the games where we might have been seen as more defensive, I think that there’s a lot of fear from other teams of what we do on the counter.

“So that’s not to be slept on because there is a very attacking threat, even in those defensive phases for the transition.”

Brandon Asante added that; “The overall feeling was that we want to go and win the game and to make a statement to our fans at home that we want to make a new dawn of really going for it in tournaments and being that powerhouse that we know that we are.”

The four-time African champions will now turn their attention to a Round of 32 epic encounter against Colombia on Saturday at Kansas City Stadium.
