Ghana’s Black Princesses will head into the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland without seven players who have been ruled out of the tournament through injury.
The Ghana Football Association has confirmed that goalkeeper Asana Osman, goalkeeper Grace Andoh, goalkeeper Jenna Kayla Sarpong, forward Mercy Attobra, forward Mary Amponsah, midfielder Linda Owusu and midfielder Jessica Appiah will all miss the competition.
The absence of the seven players presents a significant setback for head coach Charles Sampson, who will have to reorganize his squad ahead of Ghana’s campaign in Poland. The Black Princesses had been expected to rely on the players’ experience and contributions, particularly in key positions such as goalkeeper, midfield and attack.
Sampson will now look to the available members of his squad to step up as Ghana targets a strong showing at the global tournament. The Black Princesses are set to represent Ghana at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland
