Asante Kotoko have wrapped up their two-week training camp in Accra as they return to Kumasi to complete preparations for the new Ghana Premier League season and this Friday’s Democracy Cup against Hearts of Oak.
The Porcupine Warriors spent two weeks in the capital, using the period to intensify preparations and played four [4] friendly matches, losing one, drawing one, and winning two.
Kotoko ended their Accra programme with a 1-0 victory over Semper Fi, having earlier defeated Heart of Lions by the same scoreline.
The team will now return to Kumasi, where they are scheduled to face Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup on Friday, August 28, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The match will provide another opportunity for new head coach Eric Tinkler to assess his squad before the start of the league campaign.
Kotoko endured a disappointing 2025/26 season and have made significant changes to their football structure ahead of the new campaign.
South African coach Tinkler has been appointed as the club’s new head coach, while former Netherlands and Ajax goalkeeper Stanley Menzo has taken over as Director of Football.
Kotoko will begin the new Ghana Premier League season with an away trip to Berekum to battle with the newly promoted side, Debibi United, on 6th September.
