PAOK Thessaloniki defender, Abdul Baba Rahman could be set for a return to the Ghana national team after a short-term absence.
The former Chelsea left-back declined call-ups from the Black Stars after he was booed by fans against the Central African Republic in the final round of qualifiers of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Kumasi. His decision had him miss out on competing in Ivory Coast with the team.
But reports reaching Ghana Sports Page indicate, the 29-year-old is ready to make a return before Otto Addo’s side take on Mali and Central African Republic in June’s World Cup qualifiers.
Coach Otto Addo is set to announce his final squad in the coming days for these key fixtures, with the team expected to commence camping in Accra immediately.
Rahman ended the campaign as league champion with PAOK Thessaloniki, scoring six goals and three assists in 28 games.
He was one of the top performers in the PAOK team, having joined them as free agent from Chelsea.
