Ashantigold SC have arrived safely in Malabo on Thursday evening ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup match against Akonangui FC on Saturday.
The Miners will take on their Equatorial Guinea counterparts this Saturday in the first leg of their Confederation Cup preliminary round fixture.
A team of 33 contingent left the shores of Ghana on Wednesday to Aflao, continued to Lome before enplaning to their final destination – Malabo, and have arrived safely to begin preparations for the Saturday game.
Ashgold departed from Lome (Togo) to Malabo at 1:40pm (Togo time) with Ceiba International airlines and arrived at the Malabo airport at 4:27pm local time.
The team will undertake the usual mandatory training at the match venue tomorrow as they look to stage an incredible performance against Akonangui FC with the sole aim of winning or picking a point at worst.
Coach Ricardo Da Rocha traveled with 18 players and is expected to map up the right formations and tactics to galvanize good results that will make the return encounter to be played at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium a mere formality.
