In accordance with Article 31 (2) of the GFA Statutes, the Executive Council of Ghana Football Association (GFA) has fixed the 26th session of the Ordinary Congress for Thursday, August 27, 2020.
Since his election as President of the GFA on October 25, 2019, this will be the first ordinary congress of the GFA for Kurt E. S. Okraku this time as the Chairman of the Congress.
In a letter signed by the General Secretary of the GFA, Prosper Harrison Addon, dated 28th July, 2020, the GFA announced the date for convening of the FA highest decision making body, informing the public to take note. The meeting expected to take off at exactly 9:00am. Congressmen and women are expected to discuss and decide on the date to start the next football season, after the 2019/2020 was cancelled due to the covid-19 inflicted suspension on all public gatherings and contact sporting activities.
“Please be informed that pursuant to the said provision of the GFA Statutes, the Executive Council at its meeting on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 has fixed Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 9:00 O’clock in the forenoon as the date and time for the 26th Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association”, the letter announced.
With the current restrictions on the number of persons to be at every public gathering limited to only 100 persoons, the FA stated that the Congress shall be held via video conferencing.
