Former Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has earned a prestigious appointment after being selected as part of FIFA’s Technical Study Group for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Addo will join a panel of experienced football minds responsible for analyzing the tournament from a technical and tactical perspective during the global showpiece set to be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Technical Study Group plays a major role throughout the World Cup, closely assessing tactical trends, player performances, data analysis, set-piece strategies, and overall developments in the modern game.
Members of the group also contribute to the selection of major individual awards at the tournament, including the Golden Ball prize for the competition’s best player.
The appointment is another significant recognition of Addo’s growing reputation within international football following his work with the Black Stars and his experience at previous FIFA tournaments.
His inclusion in the elite technical panel places Ghanaian coaching expertise on one of football’s biggest stages and highlights FIFA’s confidence in his analytical and tactical knowledge of the game.
